Villain categories

Villains can be categorized into five different subtypes, villains who: 1.) Believe they are doing the right thing (the ends justifies the means) E.g. Magneto (X-men). 2.) Are just scary and mad, or live for destruction, there's no plot nor any obvious reason for a particular target. E.g. The Joker (The Dark Knight) 3.) Seeks revenge, e.g. Khan Star Trek. 4.) Wants power (rule the world), e.g. Blofeldt (James Bond). 5.) Are henchmen, subordinates or robots. They are either without a will, do it for fun or lack of intelligence. E.g. Jaws (James Bond films).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118276/
Buffy the vampire slayer (season 6 and 7)

Warren Mears (portrayed by Adam Busch) is a villain from the Whedon universe. He belongs to subtype 3. Former engineering afficionado and antifeminist nerd who blames Buffy for losing his girlfriend. Plainly wants revenge and therefore gangs up with two other nerds. Now of all villains in Buffy the vampire slayer, Warren Mears is the most dangerous one. His evilness gradually builds up, and in the last season when the "first"takes his shape, you really can't tell if its Warren or not. Trying to incapacitate Buffy the nerds use technology and some black magic, but in the end the revenge seeker just shoots Buffy and kills one of the gang (Tara), granted by mistake but nonetheless.
