Villain categories

Villains can be categorized into five different subtypes, villains who: 1.) Believe they are doing the right thing (the ends justifies the means) E.g. Magneto (X-men). 2.) Are just scary and mad, or live for destruction, there's no plot nor any obvious reason for a particular target. E.g. The Joker (The Dark Knight) 3.) Seeks revenge, e.g. Khan Star Trek. 4.) Wants power (rule the world), e.g. Blofeldt (James Bond). 5.) Are henchmen, subordinates or robots. They are either without a will, do it for fun or lack of intelligence. E.g. Jaws (James Bond films).

Anakin Skywalker, later Darth Vader is perhaps the villain with the most complex and fascinating background. Belonging to both subtype 3 and 4 in the Lucas universe. Portrayed by James Earl Jones , Hayden Christensen, Jake Lloyd,Sebastian Shaw and David Prowse. Anakin, a Jedi prodigy looses his mother as a child, is brought up under awful conditions but is found and trained by Jedis. Anakin struggles with his past and is a rebellious Jedi with little patience. Anakin falls to the dark side after being a protagonist in the I-III films. Before this he becomes father to Luke and Leia, Luke being together with Han Solo, Leia and Chewbacca the protagonists of the IV-VI films, is saved by Anakin in the ultimate sacrifice, which signifies his complexity as a antagonist.
